William began playing drums in 1981 at age three.  In high school he was percussion head captain of the All-Superior Booneville High School Band playing on the snare line all four years. After high school, William attended Northeast Mississippi Community College, where he received a scholarship to play drums for Campus Country.  While in Campus Country William was introduced to Jonathan Singleton, Josh Smith and Andy Dixon.  William and Josh formed a group called Shagadoo, which dismembered in late 2001.  In May of 2002, Jonathan contacted William and asked him to begin playing drums for The Grove. When not busy with Jonathan Singleton and the Grove, William serves as a fill-in percussion instructor for two Mississippi high school bands writing, arranging, and teaching music to drum lines.  He is also the Drum Department Head and percussion teacher at The Bandstand in Jackson, TN and engineers at the Lodge Recording studio in North Mississippi.
